Most of us are so focussed on the next big things in life..the next big deal, the next big sale, the next big break, the next big house and the little things just get in the way.
We become so obsessed with grabbing the future and pulling it towards us. When it doesn’t move, we attract the fish moths that gnaw at our faith. Frustration; anger; demotivation; depression!
Maybe….. we should just stop for a second and realise that we are exactly where we are meant to be at this very moment!
Sounds stupid? Read this…..
On Sep 11, 2001, when the twin towers collapsed….these people survived because of the little things that usually annoy us….
- An employee started work late because it was his son’s first day at kindergarten
- Another was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts
- One woman was late because her alarm clock didn’t go off in time
- One was late because of being stuck in traffic because of an auto accident
- One of them missed his bus
- One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change
- One wore a new pair of shoes but was delayed because of a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
It makes you think that maybe rushing to the future is not always where we should be;
It may be just that someone is watching over you and those little things are meant to help you eventually reach your big things!
All the best, as always
Luke
