<p><font color="#000000" size="3">Last week I needed to replace 2&#160; tyres on my car. So I made a few calls to see what pricing I should be paying and who could do the job that day. </font></p>
<p><font color="#000000" size="3">I phoned 5 local tyre companies. All were friendly, the prices were very similar and they all could get the job done that very same day.</font></p>
<p><strong><font color="#000000" size="3">So, how come the one got the job and the others didn’t?       <br /></font><font color="#000000" size="3"></font></strong></p>
<p><font color="#000000" size="3">4 of the companies gave me their prices for a cheap option and an alternative higher quality option. They suggested I have a wheel alignment (standard sale upgrade) and offered to book me in right away. That’s what most businesses would do – would you agree?     </p>
<p><strong>Here’s why the 5th company got the deal!</strong> The sales person took me through the sales process exactly as the other 4 companies did but then he did something that the other 4 companies didn’t!      <br /></font></p>
<p><font color="#000000" size="3">He asked me how many&#160; tyres I needed to replace. I told him , “two”. He then asked , “will the others need replacing in the near future!”&#160; I said, “yes!”. He then said, “I am going to save you money!”. “Instead of buying 2 cheap tyres now and then 2 later, which do not last as long, I will take your spare tyre (unused, fully treaded Dunlop), put that on your car with 3 new Dunlop tyres so you will have 4 fully treaded Dunlop tyres and since you are buying 3 new tyres right now, I will do your wheel alignment at half price!”     </p>
<p><strong>He got the deal!</strong> He got 3 tyre sales of the higher brand when I was just looking for 2 and could possibly have been sold the cheaper version by another company plus he added a wheel alignment. But more importantly, he eliminated 4 of his competitors in a highly competitive market where people can just phone around and get the cheapest price.      </p>
<p>He provided me with a <strong>solution!</strong> He was not just selling me a product.&#160; This <em><strong><font color="#ff0000">small difference means&#160; big business</font></strong></em> and is one of the smartest strategies you can employ in your business!      </p>

When a chick hatches from its egg, it is welcomed into the world by with the warmth and security of its nest. Its mother brings it worms at feeding time and keeps it warm at night or when it’s cold. This incubation period continues until the chick must leave the nest. The chick leaves the nest in 2 ways. It either leaves on its own accord or it gets kicked out by its mother. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;"><strong>Fair or unfair?</strong> It doesn’t matter. This is how birds learn to fly. This is how they progress in the stages of their lives. If a bird never jumps out of its nest, it can never learn to fly. It has to take that leap to progress.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;">Now, many business people remain stuck in the comfort and security of their nests, despite being in business for several years. These people never get past a certain point in their lives or businesses, yet they feel as though they are consistently trying and are making sincere efforts.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;"><strong>So what is actually happening here ? </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;">These “efforts of trying” are the shifting from the centre of their nests to its edge. These business people believe they are making progress and are happy to continue “trying” as long as they remain within the zone of security and comfort of their nests.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;">But what happens when they approach the edge of the nest? The down feathers get thinner, the nest gets colder, twigs become more abrasive and the journey starts to get a little tougher and uncomfortable. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;">And then they reach the edge! And as they peek over the edge, they reach a <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">defining point</span></strong> in their path. They reach a defining point in their lives! Here lies the critical point at which they <strong>decide who they really are?</strong> Do they see the view from the edge as a brand new world of excitement and opportunity or do they view it as a terrifying plunge into the darkness of uncertainty?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;">It is these differing views that <strong>determines progression or stagnation</strong>. It is this choice of what to do at the edge that determines the <strong>winners or losers</strong> and separates <strong>achievers from dreamers</strong>. Those that take the plunge have the opportunity to soar to new heights and reach their dreams. Those that choose to run back to the centre of the nest shall never witness progression. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;">So, next time you question <strong>“Why am I not moving forward”;</strong> ask yourself “<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Do I keep running back to the centre of my nest. Is it perhaps time I learnt how to fly?” </span></strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: medium;">Is your safety bridge actually too safe? Instead of protecting you, maybe it is preventing you.</span></p>
